Sara Mayer: Hi, everyone. I'm very excited to Finish up we have two more episodes of this coaching series. So today we're going to talk about attracting clients as a coach. And as you really need to know who your ideal client is. And so I want to start with [00:01:00] that really quickly because. Many times people want to serve everybody and while you may end up serving everybody, you want to speak to one person.
Sara Mayer: So what I always like to suggest is that you come up with that ideal person in your head. You. Figure out what they look like, what they like, and you really talk to that person. Now, you may have other people who come to you that are not actually that ideal person, and you can certainly make the decision to serve them.
Sara Mayer: But when you speak to one person, you are going to attract more clients. And one of the ways to do this is through video marketing. And as it's blown up over the years with TikTok and all those things. And it is an effective way to attract clients when you are a coach. So you can connect and show them your offer.
Sara Mayer: You can talk about their, the offer that you're making, but you can also show them the [00:02:00] transformation. And many people are attracted to videos. It's a must have when you are a life coach. Now, if you're listening on the podcast, you may or may not know that I also have a YouTube channel where you can see me recording this live for you.
Sara Mayer: So my YouTube does really well and I encourage you to explore video marketing. So here are seven tips to help you attract more clients. So the first one is. Using engaging visuals. So when creating videos for marketing purposes, you want to make sure they're engaging, they'll capture your audience's attention.
Sara Mayer: And so this could include rich colors, exciting graphics, or footage in maybe an unusual location. There are great b roll websites, which b roll is like just Random videos of stuff that maybe are not you direct to camera talking. So it may be a individual reading a book, or it may be somebody [00:03:00] writing in a journal.
Sara Mayer: Depending on what your ideal client is interested in, you can find some video footage very inexpensively or even free that you can use in your videos to do voiceovers for or to use as engaging content in between you talking. It's really important to keep it short and sweet. Nobody wants to jump on a video that they're scrolling and every video is 1 minute and then all of a sudden there's a 15 minute.
Sara Mayer: So know your platform and know your audience. There's YouTube shorts. There's YouTube long, but on TikTok, most of those are a little bit shorter. Be concise and be to the point. No one really wants those long drawn out things, but you may do like a snippet of a longer video to tease them to get them into a longer video.
Sara Mayer: I like to aim for around one to two minutes when creating videos for marketing purposes. That's usually the sweet spot. Make it personal, a truly [00:04:00] effective way to connect with audience is to share a little bit about you. You don't need to share your whole life story, but maybe your experiences as a coach with your clients.
Sara Mayer: This could include recording yourself. Talking about an interesting or challenging experience you've had, or even filming short clips from your daily life. So the more personal it is, the better. I know that I have a mentor that has a dog and her dog talked about how proud he is about his mom. So that's a great way to make it personal.
Sara Mayer: Social media is one of the best places, obviously, to share your videos with potential clients and build connections. So you want to make sure you're posting your videos on all your social profiles and consider accounts specifically to promote your coaching business online. So keep each of your pages interesting by sharing.
Sara Mayer: Some of the videos on each. For example, you may use Instagram [00:05:00] or Snapchat for behind the scenes content, YouTube for how to videos, and this will ensure your viewers are interested and want to learn more about your content. And then get creative with editing. There are so many different editing tools available online that you can add special effects, music, et cetera, to your videos.
Sara Mayer: So make sure you make them a little more interesting and engaging, but don't let this stop you from getting started. If you're looking for a really great editing software, I use Descript. It's on my favorite things page. You can check it out. The other great way, a thing that you can do in video is networking with other coaches.
Sara Mayer: So you can find new clients by connecting with others in your field. So maybe attending conferences, joining groups, posting on social media about what you do, but also inviting some of those coaches on to your videos. And this allows you to connect with others and their audiences that may be interested in [00:06:00] hiring you.
Sara Mayer: Of course, always stay professional. Your videos should be informative, professional, conversational, approachable, and engaging enough that your potential clients feel comfortable reaching out to you when they are ready for coaching services. This will help you establish authority in your field, and it's also critical for marketing success.
Sara Mayer: So if you do want to attract more clients, video marketing is one of the best tools at your disposal. It's a must have tool to be a successful coach. And by following these tips, you can create engaging videos that connect with your ideal potential clients, helping them see what you have to offer as a coach.
Sara Mayer: All right, bold goal crushers. It's time to crush your goals and everything that gets in the way, because you do not need to work double time. So let's get to it.
