We're going to talk about the seven characteristics of a successful

So first off, coaches really assist clients in achieving specific focus, personal and professional goals. And they. Are invaluable to anyone looking to make a change in their lives. A successful coach is passionate about helping others achieve their goals and live a happier, more fulfilled life.
Sara Mayer: And whether you start your coaching You're just starting your coaching career, or you've been practicing for several years, developing certain characteristics will help you become a successful coach. And there are really 7 different characteristics that most successful coaches share. So the 1st 1. It's probably no surprise.
Sara Mayer: They are passionate about helping others. A successful coach is passionate about helping others reach their goals, and they truly dedicate are dedicated to the work they do, [00:02:00] and they'll go out of their way to support their clients along the way. They also are excellent at communication skills, so a coach needs strong communication skills to build effective relationships with their clients, and this means listening carefully.
Sara Mayer: and responding effectively, both verbally and through nonverbal communication. It also includes asking the right questions to help the client clarify their thoughts and feelings and helpful relaying of information back to the client in an effective way. This one may be a surprise, but Successful coaches have good organization and time management skills.
Sara Mayer: So a successful coach is well organized and manages their time effectively. They need to be able to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines to keep many clients at once. So it's critical that you are able to manage your time, including appointments, sessions, reviews, [00:03:00] and also calls to build new clients. And balancing multiple projects and tasks may seem challenging at first, but as you practice skills over time, they will become second nature.
Sara Mayer: And I think it's really important that you think about your business as getting new clients and then serving your clients. There are a lot of things that go into both, and you need to do both. Otherwise, you'll go through these peaks and valleys. Successful coaches are great problem solvers. A good coach tends to be excellent at problem solving and you need to assess the obstacles and roadblocks that your clients may face when you develop solutions that address those issues.
Sara Mayer: And finally not finally. There's a couple more. One very important thing is a successful coach definitely needs to have a positive attitude and they need to approach their work from that place of positivity. They truly [00:04:00] believe in their client's ability to achieve their goals, and they always remain optimistic and encouraging.
Sara Mayer: Successful coaches also need to have a strong work ethic. They're willing to put in the demanding work necessary to help clients reach their potential. And as a result, the coaches are highly motivated and always looking for ways to improve their skills and knowledge. It's about turning those knobs up in learning.
Sara Mayer: Another characteristic of a successful coach is a high emotional intelligence. To be successful in coaching, you do need to understand and manage your own emotions as well as your clients. You need to create a supportive environment where the clients can feel safe, exploring their feelings and working through challenges.
Sara Mayer: If you're considering coaching as a business idea or already working on one, make sure you have developed these seven [00:05:00] characteristics or you already have them and you will achieve success and support your clients effectively on their journey to reaching new goals. I think it's really important to know what you need to have in order to be successful in this field.
Sara Mayer: And now I want to give you four important tips for new life coaching entrepreneurs or just coaching entrepreneurs as a new coaching entrepreneur. It's critical to be aware of some of these tips that can help you succeed. So these are important for building a successful business that generates revenue.
Sara Mayer: So first off, You need to start building your network right away. It's imperative that you start building your professional network as soon as possible. This can include networking with other coaches and professionals in the field, attending local events and conferences, and getting involved with online communities or groups related to coaching.
Sara Mayer: You want to build a support network [00:06:00] and that's critical for any business owner, but it's essential for those in the coaching industry. The network can include family, friends, colleagues, mentors, and other professionals who offer guidance and advice. And it's important to have people you can rely on when starting as a coach.
Sara Mayer: So don't be fearful about reaching out and building relationships with other others in the field. Networks are important to establish credibility. You will need to build an online presence to get your name out there and attract new clients. And this presence will ensure that customers and clients can easily find you and interact.
Sara Mayer: So setting up a website is great, but you can attract clients without a website. So you can use social media to get a website. You really just need a way to charge people. And many times clients get really focused on setting up a website and getting the website all done. And they have multiple pages.
Sara Mayer: Honestly, if you set up a website, start with one page. [00:07:00] What are you selling and how am I charging them? That's the easiest way. And then it's important to really think about the right tools and resources. As a coach, it's vital to have those tools at your disposal. disposal. So it may include coaching software or not, and it may include a website or it may include a way to book appointments.
Sara Mayer: I love Calendarly for that. And you really just need a way to charge people and for them to set up their appointments. So don't get so lost in the tech. Remember that it's easy to start simple and then you can build other things later. Now. When you're become a coach, you're starting a business. So one thing you need to know is how to run a successful business.
Sara Mayer: And another thing you need to know is how to coach. So you want to make sure that you dedicate some time to learn more about running a business, including marketing, managing your finances, dealing with taxes [00:08:00] and more. And with this knowledge, you'll also be better equipped to build that thriving business because many people, when They see coaching.
Sara Mayer: They're looking to do something different and achieve a goal. And sometimes it's all about creating a business. So by following these 4 important tips, you will be on your way to becoming a successful life or coach entrepreneur. And remember to stay focused and dedicated. And always continue learning and growing in your knowledge and skillset and you will be able to achieve success and more.
