bold goal crusher podcast goals podcast Dec 11, 2023

Welcome to the Bold Goal Crusher Podcast, the go-to destination for anyone ready to conquer their aspirations without working double time. I'm your host, Sara Mayer, and I'm excited to embark on this journey with you. It's time to stop letting life get in the way and start boldly achieving. Let's dive in.

Reflecting on the Year: A Crucial Step Before Setting Goals

Hello, Bold Goal Crushers! As the holiday season is upon us, I hope you've allowed the magic to settle into your life. Amidst the holiday rush, take a moment to reflect on the year gone by. Before you rush into setting resolutions and goals for the upcoming year, it's crucial to pause and reflect on your personal and professional experiences from the past year.

Research supports the positive effects of self-reflection, and it's not something to be done only at the end of the year. Consider incorporating weekly reflections into your routine. But before you jump into the next set of goals, take a step back, highlight the positive aspects of your year, and approach your reflections with positivity.

Visit my website for a yearly reflection worksheet, and take a moment to ponder over questions like: What are the highlights of the past year? What did you learn about yourself? What brought you joy, and what accomplishments are you most proud of?

Celebrate the Positive:

Before diving into challenges, celebrate your achievements. Recognize the obstacles you overcame, the challenges you conquered, and the areas where you grew the most. What do you want more of in your life, and how do you envision designing your day?

Remember to acknowledge your efforts and celebrate both big and small victories. Share your personal stories and challenges, not just to remind yourself but also to inspire others on a similar journey.

Identify Obstacles and Celebrate Achievements:

What got in the way of your progress? Spend more time on the positive aspects and a limited amount on challenges. Think about the people who supported and guided you. If you could redo the year, what would you change? Celebrate your achievements, closing the loop on what you accomplished.

Setting Goals with Purpose:

As you craft your goals for the upcoming year, prioritize the positive aspects identified during your reflection. Jot down activities and experiences that brought you joy and lit you up. This will help your brain recognize and present more opportunities aligned with your desires.

Identify and learn from challenges, exploring the concept of resilience. What lessons did setbacks and obstacles teach you? Align your goals with your core values and ensure that your daily life reflects those values.

Remember, resolutions, themes, words, vision boards, and goal setting are all mechanisms to help you achieve. Choose what works best for you, and ensure there's a connection between your reflection and goal setting. Challenge yourself to dream big and set bold goals rather than playing it safe for mere achievement.

Stay tuned for upcoming episodes where we'll discuss creating action plans for your goals. And mark your calendars for our New Year's party on December 26th – a celebration and preparation for crushing your goals in the coming year.

Thank you for tuning into the Bold Goal Crusher Podcast, where we crush goals and everything that gets in the way. I'm excited to witness your success this year. Download the reflection worksheet, and let's get ready to crush it together!
